The Arc Caddo-Bossier Commemorates 70th Anniversary with Major Celebration in Downtown Shreveport

Shreveport, LA – It was the dream of a small group of parents to better meet the needs of their children with disabilities, back in 1954, as they founded The Arc Caddo-Bossier to cater to the development of their children through unique programs and services. After seven decades, The Arc Caddo-Bossier still exists to assist and support people in our community with disabilities and their families. In commemoration of this milestone achievement,  The Arc Caddo-Bossier will host a 70th Anniversary Celebration, Saturday, April 20, 2024. The event is scheduled from 11am to 3pm at Festival Plaza (101 Crockett Street) in downtown Shreveport.  The family-friendly event is open to the public and will feature live entertainment by the local band, Airheart. The acoustic trio plays a variety of music from rock to pop to folk and even R&B.  Among other experiences, attendees can expect a Second Line entrance performed by the Drumline and Jazz Band of Southwood High School, a magic show by Louisiana Dan, a petting zoo courtesy of Grice and Grace Farms of Louisiana, inflatables, activities, delicious food and more.  There will also be a short program where The Arc Caddo-Bossier will recognize founding families, major supporters, and share proclamations issued by governmental entities.
