Open Artist Call Issued to NWLA Artists Requests Concept Submissions that Capture the Spirit of Live! Casino & Hotel; Louisiana-based Gaming Glam, Big Wins and a Vibrant Nightlife Experience

Bossier City, LA (August 12, 2024) – The Cordish Companies has partnered with the Shreveport and Bossier Arts Councils to issue an Open Artist Call to the artists of NWLA for concept submissions and a chance to have their works displayed inside the new $270+ Million LIVE! CASINO & HOTEL LOUISIANA, coming Q1 2025 to the East Bank Cultural District in Bossier City.

The Open Artist Call will be issued to artists across Northwest Louisiana requesting fresh, local artwork that captures the spirit of Live! Casino’s vibrant entertainment, gaming, dining and nightlife experience to be displayed in the first land-based casino in the Shreveport-Bossier market.

Of the concepts submitted, twelve (12) local artists will be selected to create a finalized version of their original piece to be showcased in the pre-function area of 25,000-square-foot Event Center, a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose venue for top name entertainment, meetings, conventions, nonprofit and social gatherings.

To be eligible to submit in the Open Artist Call, artists must be on Culturalyst and from Region 7, which includes Bossier, Caddo, Webster, Claiborne, Bienville, DeSoto, Red River, Sabine and Natchitoches parishes. Artwork can be any medium, must be original, frameable and measure 36” x 36”. An anonymous gallery panel made up of Live! Casino representatives, professional artists and art professionals will select 12 artists to create a finalized version of their concept piece. Artists will be compensated $1,000 for their work.

The deadline to submit concepts is 4:00 PM, September 13, 2024. All submissions may be dropped off to the Bossier Arts Council located at 630 Barksdale Blvd., Bossier City, LA 71111 or submitted digitally at https://srac.submittable.com/

Digital artwork will be reviewed on a screen as large as 65 inches and submissions should be a suitable resolution to enhance the artwork rather than distort it.
