Largest Airport Revolving Art Show in the Country Returns to Shreveport Regional Airport

For the first time in a decade, the Artport art exhibit returns to Shreveport Regional Airport. The opening night event will take place on Thursday, June 5, 2025, in the terminal building and skybridge from 5:30pm-9:30pm. The event will feature more than 80 pieces of custom art created by local and regional artists. Windstorm will provide live entertainment, heavy hors d’oeuvres will be available, along with a cash bar. There will also be a silent auction benefitting Volunteers for Youth Justice, and there will be multiple artists with pop-up shops selling their additional art pieces.

Artport began in 1990 as an initiative by the Airport Beatification Committee to greet travelers arriving in Shreveport for the Independence Bowl. This year’s installment is the 16th, and features an array of new artistic mediums, including sculptures, largeformat canvases, murals, and digital art. This show’s theme is In Southern Dimension, and all pieces have a Shreveport or North Louisiana theme.

“It is my goal to make Shreveport Regional Airport a point of pride for our region. Having Artport return to the airport will help accomplish this and complement the many improvements currently underway at the airport. In Southern Dimension is the perfecttheme to showcase our region and provide a sense of place to all that visit our beautiful passenger terminal,” said Larry Blackwell, Director of Airports for the Shreveport Airport Authority.

The Artport Opening Night Party is free and open to the public. Valet parking will be available, and parking is free for party guests.
