BPCC, BPSO and BCPD TO SIGN AGREEMENT – Monday, March 4
Bossier Parish Community College, the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Bossier City Police Department will sign an agreement Monday to formalize a preferred training partnership for law enforcement personnel.
As part of the agreement, BPCC will provide training opportunities, which will lead to associate degrees, diplomas, certificates and industry-based credentials for BPSO and BCPD personnel. In addition to training, BPCC will extend student support services and tuition assistance to eligible law enforcement personnel.
Regarding the partnership, Chancellor Dr. Rick Bateman, Jr. says, "At Bossier Parish Community College, we understand that investing in the development of our first responders is paramount to fostering safer communities. Our partnership with the Sheriff and the Police Chief underscores our commitment to education and training and the role that these efforts can support public safety."
The signing will take place at 11am Monday, March 4, in the Chancellor’s Conference Room (Building A, Room 230) on the BPCC campus, located at 6220 E. Texas Street in Bossier City.
Members of the media are invited to attend Monday’s event. Chancellor Bateman will be joined by Bossier City Mayor Tommy Chandler, Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington, and Bossier City Police Chief Daniel Haugen for the signing.
