ANECA CREDIT UNION WELCOMES ADDITION TO THEIR COMMUNITY ADVOCACY TEAM

ANECA Federal Credit Union has expanded its community outreach, education, and advocacy team with the addition of another Community Development Liaison, Erica McCain.

Formerly the Executive Director of Dress for Success Shreveport-Bossier for 5 years, McCain has over 15-years of experience in community development. McCain was the 2014 National Philanthropy Day Chair for North Louisiana, an event that recognizes leading philanthropist in the area. Throughout 2021 through 2023, McCain became an honoree for Greater Shreveport Chamber Minority Business Opportunity Awards Nonprofit Professional of the Year Nominee, Altered Northwest Louisiana Women of Inspiration – as well as a Top 40 Under Forty, and Shreveport Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit Torch Award Nominee. McCain currently serves on the Shreveport Greater Chamber Business Connection Committee and the 2023 Athena Chair, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Downtown Shreveport Rotary, and Board Member of the Southern Hills Business Association.

“In addition to being a driven community advocate for many causes, I am also very passionate about women issues having worked at a rape crisis center in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada prior to moving back to my home state of Louisiana,” states McCain. “As a native of Shreveport, LA, I received my B.A. and M.A. from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, and a Certification in Nonprofit Management with emphasis on Philanthropy from Texas A&M University College Station, TX. I am also a proud pup-mom of two pitties, Ziyah and Caine.”

“We are excited to have such a community pillar not only join our ANECA family, but one that will be a true partner and advocate for the communities we serve,” explains Chief Operations Officer, Amanda Simpson. “Erica’s years of devotion to helping those in need is inspiring and we could not feel more fortunate to have her representing ANECA and all we stand for.”

As a representative of ANECA, McCain’s main responsibilities will entail developing relationships throughout the Shreveport and Bossier communities within the scope of financial literacy and outreach.
