Reports to: Executive Director 

The Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission is taking applications for full-time Men’s Program Assistant/Case Manager. Qualified male candidates must have a personal relationship with Christ, have a desire to serve the homeless, exhibit a Christ-like attitude and must be able to serve as a witness as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent qualification

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Highly organized and detail oriented

Self-motivated with good time management skills and the ability to multitask 

Prior experience working with or serving homeless or low income, diverse populations, and recovery ministry is a plus

Must work well with people, be concerned about their needs and exhibit the ability to motivate and be able to provide tough love when appropriate

Responsibilities

Assist the Executive Director in the oversight of the daily operations of the men’s program.

Assist the Executive Director in training men’s guest services staff

Cooperate and coordinate with the Executive Director in all areas pertaining to the men’s program, attending all meetings.

Provide individualized high quality case management, care, Christian counseling, spiritual leadership and records management for guests in our Life Recovery Program

Prepares complete and accurate case notes and log notes documenting each visit and/or occurrence with guests

Help maintain, throughout the Mission, an attitude of respect toward our guests, remembering all are created in the image of God

Offer comfort and support while helping foster the guest’s journey to independence 

Help provide appropriate discipline for male guests whenever warranted 

Teach classes as assigned

Perform other duties as assigned
